It’s 2022! A new year is always a time where people try to leave old habits behind or try and enforce new ones. However, it’s well known that less than half of people who make New Year’s resolutions stick to them six months later. Having someone keep you accountable can definitely help and this doesn’t have to include human buddies. Promising to be more active is just one thing your dog can help you achieve. This can be flexible as it could mean early morning walks before work to get your steps up or commiting to trying something new every week, like hiking or even swimming. It’ll also be a resolution easier to stick to in six months time as the weather gets warmer. Other resolutions to include your dog and create healthier habits can be;
- Make television time more productive by adding some dog training (shape a new behavior during ad breaks)
- Try four new things this year that include your pup, like a new dog friendly cafe or agility class
- Meet new friends (join a dog-related Meetup group or social group)
- Organise a dog walk with a friend, make it a weekly ritual!
- Volunteer to help out with a PAWS fundraiser
Your dog will love it too!
