The 24th of January, saw the second annual PAWS charity lunch fundraiser take place in La Rivista restaurant in Kilkenny. Hosted by the amazing Catriona and Aidan Gibbons, who are long term supporters of PAWS Animal Rescue and fundraiser extraordinaire’s, it was an extremely successful day that saw friends and supporters come together for a day out in support of the PAWS dogs!
PAWS supporters come from all over Ireland to take a seat at the La Rivista restaurant and enjoy a delicious three course lunch, spot prizes, a goodie bag filled with tonnes of great treats from Sam McCauley’s chemist and a fantastic raffle hosted by radio presenter, Eimear Ní Bhraonáin of KCLR, with prizes from La Rivista, amazing artwork from Irish Wildflowers, dinner for two from Hotel Kilkenny, a doggy hamper from Connolly’s Redmills, a dog training voucher from GooDog Training Academy and tonnes more from local businesses and hotels alike, all in aid of PAWS.
Fundraising events like the PAWS La Rivista lunch are amazing, not only because it raises much needed funds towards the care of the rescue dogs, the running of the shelter and the vet and food bills but also it is a rare opportunity for dog lovers, PAWS supporters and fellow dog rescuers to come together to mingle, learn about what PAWS do day to day, enjoy some very tasty food and swap innovative ideas for other fundraising events and discuss dog care and animal rescue in general.
As PAWS is a non profit rescue, we are heavily reliant of the help of our followers and fundraising events organised by our supporters. Days like this one help pay the running costs and the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of the dogs in our care, if you are interested in running a fundraiser for PAWS, please check our blog on fundraising ideas on our website or get in touch with us directly. We appreciate all your help!
